A historian for general readers
Kevin M. Schultz is a historian of twentieth- and twenty-first-century America, with particular interests in religion, pluralism, and American intellectual and cultural life. Born in Los Angeles, he is Professor of History, Religious Studies, and Catholic Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he served as Chair of the Department of History.
He writes for both academic and popular audiences, is a past president of the Society for U.S. Intellectual History, and appears regularly on radio, television, and podcasts to put today’s political fights in historical context.
